Annual Spring Tea and Show & Tell

Again this year, members may share their personal works and socialize. Please bring your favorite brew and a bite for sharing to this tea party. How about a favorite tea cup and saucer? We are inspired by the creativity and talent we see in our fellow Guild members, so bring something to share and prepare to be inspired.

Hospitality: Caroline Owens & Cynthia Smith

Thanks for stepping in and helping out.

Bring your spinning wheel if you have one and participate. If not your equipment, then your curiosity, but be prepared to learn; it's a party, it's a craft, it's fiber! We are looking for variety, history, inspiration, and, as always, opportunity to learn and share.

  Fabric Design -Note Date Change-

Susan Ball-Faeder will discuss her passion for fabric, from the unique perspective of the Orient, which inspires her, to the details of getting a design printed. As a Guild member and as the owner of The Beckoning Cat in Lewisburg, she understands our community of creativity and we hope to learn more about another fiber passion from a professional.

  Family Heirloom Weaver

This field trip will take us to Red Lion, Pennsylvania, where the art and craft of weaving is being preserved. There are 40 working looms in operation, some from the mid-19th century. On their looms, they are weaving historically accurate reproductions of coverlets, carpets, and bedding, as well as current commissioned projects by artisans, and also have commercial bulk weaving accounts that keep the looms busy.  Their work is displayed in museums, nine houses of former presidents, and historic homes and is used in films and by Civil War reenactors. We will tour both the mill with working looms and the show house, where samples and merchandise are displayed. The cost per person is $3.00 and it is donated by the mill to world hunger. Please see their web site for more details:
