Susqusehanna Valley Spinners and Weavers Guild

The monthly meeting of SVSWG will be held at The Daily Grind in Vicksburg.  The address is 6404 Old Turnpike Road, Mifflinburg.  

Our February meeting program will be member Susan Kesler-Simpson presenting how to sew hand woven fabric into garments.

The Weavers Study group will be meeting at The Daily Grind in Vicksburg.  All members are welcome to attend.  We will be looking at cloth we have wove to use for clothing.

This is a pot luck gathering.  Please bring your own place settings and a dish or two to share.

We meet around 3 PM, Eat around 5 PM and leave by 6:30. 

Also, bring your ideas, questions, and suggestions for future weaving projects.

The 2012 MD Sheep and Wool Festival is held in Freindship Park MD.

May's meeting is held on the 3rd Sundy of the month due to Mother's Day.

We will be learing Fleece Preparation from member Joy McCracken.  Learn the ins and outs of getting a fleece ready to spin or felt.  Joy will lead the discussion of tips and tools used to make the chore easy and enjoyable.

We will be taking a field trip to the Home Textile Tool Museum in Orwell Pennsylvania.  This museum is a facinating place for the fiber and antique enthusiest.

We will also be participating in a workshop in natural Indigo Dyeing. 

There will be a fee for admission to the musuem and a class fee.

The June monthly meeting will be a discussion of the prior days field trip to the Home Tool Textile Museum and Indigo Dyeing Workshop. 

If you could not make the trip to the museum this will be your opportunity to see what you missed and learn from those that visisted the musuem.

The July Monthly meeting will be "Dealing with Abstract Design".  This will be a hands on workshop to explain abstract designs and why they work in the fiber arts.

There will be a discussion of sources of inspiration as well as a display of Anna Raschi's tapistries and Lori Weaver's felted scarves.

Learn how to express joy, serenity, etc. into your work.
